Apply for an Internship Position in the European Parliament! Ciarán Cuffe, Green Party Member of the European Parliament for Dublin, Ireland, is hiring an intern to work in his Brussels office. If you are an organised, motivated individual with an interest in Ciarán’s work, then they would love to hear from you!
The applicant must be legally allowed to work in Belgium and be prepared to begin work in Brussels from February 1, 2024. This 3-month internship will end on April 30, 2024 with no opportunity for extension.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting Communications Manager with monitoring and drafting content for media and social media
- Assisting staff in writing briefing notes and speeches
- Research as assigned by MEP and other staff
- Attending meetings/events and taking notes
- Event planning and management
- Administrative tasks (e.g. entries to MEP’s calendar, recording meetings)
- Other tasks as required
Remuneration
- The position is full-time and paid at a gross amount of €1,495 per month (the maximum allowance).
Eligibility
- Applicant must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication and organisation skills;
- Knowledge of or strong interest in EU institutions and legislative procedures;
- Knowledge of Irish politics and the Dublin constituency;
- Demonstrated interest in at least one of the MEP’s interest areas:
- His work on the European Parliament committees, climate action, renewable energy, sustainable transport, cities etc.
- Experience in the following will be considered a plus:
- Independent research
- Communications, including designing graphics and creating social media content and videos
- Administrative work
