Deadline: March 31, 2024

Applications are open for the Africa Prime Initiative (API) Grant 2024 for Senegalese Artists. Founded by Dr. Yaya Moussa, the Africa Prime Initiative (API) stands as the philanthropic arm of Africa Prime, a renowned on-demand video streaming service. With a commitment to amplifying the voices of African creatives, API seeks to provide an authentic representation of diverse African cultures on the global stage. Collaborating with local partners on grant projects, API is dedicated to empowering emerging artists, fostering career growth, and supporting various artistic disciplines such as film, photography, and contemporary art.

API began a meaningful partnership with Loman Art, an independent gallery in Senegal. Driven by a shared vision of championing emerging African talent, the collaboration offers a powerful opportunity for Senegalese artists.

The new partnership provides Senegalese emerging artists with funding through grants, with Loman Art providing professional insights throughout the entire creative process. The grant amount received by each winning artist depends on the scope detailed in the creative’s applications as well as the joint decisions made between API and Loman Art. Upon completion of the artwork, Loman Art will curate an exhibition to showcase the creations of the selected artists, providing a platform for their work to be appreciated by a wider audience.
