Deadline: March 18, 2026

Applications are open for the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity Program 2027. The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity program is designed to bring together the many diverse industries and professions that influence health and well-being including, but not limited to: art, law, business, academia, medicine, government, journalism, social enterprise, research, media, housing, and health care delivery. They are looking for leaders who have the courage and compassion to confront life-limiting disparities in health.

Fellows will be selected based on demonstrated commitment in the area of health equity and leadership potential. The program will build and support a group of global, multidisciplinary leaders equipped with the technical knowledge, skills, and network to advance health equity in their organizations and communities. The program will select 15-20 fellows per year.

Costs

  • All educational experiences and travel expenses related to participation in the fellowship will be covered by the program.

Eligibility

Open to individuals who:

  • Want to become global leaders in the elimination of health disparities
  • Are early to mid-career
  • Are currently engaged in health-related work
  • Are currently in leadership or a position that has potential for leadership
  • Value diverse perspectives
  • Enjoy working in groups

Expectations

Selected fellows will need to:

  • Attend in person convenings throughout the year (4-week time commitment)
  • Participate in the online curriculum that includes: biweekly online classes, individualized coaching, peer mentoring, and team-based learning (12-16 hours per month)
  • Be proficient in the English language

Application

  • Personal Demographic Details: As part of the application, applicants will be asked to provide basic background details to help us understand their professional context and environment.
  • Short Answer Questions: Applicants will respond to a series of short answer questions about their motivation for leadership, the communities they serve, the impact of their work to date and a project they hope to advance during the fellowship year. Applicants may download this worksheet to prepare their written responses offline.
  • Video Questions: After applicants submit their written application responses, they will be sent an email invitation to respond to a few questions via short video recordings. Applicants are not considered complete until the video responses are also submitted. All video responses are due by March 18 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (GMT -4).
  • Employer Support Form: All applicants must upload an Employer Support Form PRIOR to submitting the application. This form must be completed by someone in a direct supervisory role and should confirm your employer’s support of your participation in the fellowship program.
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation: Letters of recommendation should be specific to your interest in being an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity. These should be provided professional references who are willing to be contacted in the final selection process. At least one of the letters should be from someone in a direct supervisory role (this can be the same person who completes the employer support form).
