Osmar Zaidan began Kita Korban Bullying during his high school years after witnessing how many bullying victims were unable to stand up for themselves. He observed that victims were often physically or socially outmatched by their perpetrators, making resistance feel impossible. Many of them also hesitated to report their experiences to teachers or professionals, fearing escalation or retaliation. This reality motivated Osmar to initiate Kita Korban Bullying as a youth-led movement that emphasizes anti-bullying education and peer support systems in schools, with the belief that empowering students to support one another is a crucial step toward creating safer and more inclusive learning environments.
On his successes thus far.
Through Kita Korban Bullying (KKB), Osmar Zaidan has led a youth-driven movement that has reached more than 100 schools across Indonesia, delivering anti-bullying education and awareness programs to students and educators. Under his leadership, KKB has also established anti-bullying ambassadors in various schools, empowering students to become peer supporters and first responders for bullying prevention within their own environments. The movement has collaborated with over 20 partners, including NGOs, government institutions, youth communities, and social organizations, strengthening a multi-stakeholder approach to bullying prevention. One of KKB’s key milestones was initiating the first national anti-bullying declaration in Indonesia, which brought together more than 100 youth participants from diverse communities to collectively voice their commitment to creating safer and more inclusive spaces for young people.
Plans for the future.
Looking ahead, Osmar envisions expanding Kita Korban Bullying’s impact beyond schools to reach families, particularly parents and young children. He believes that bullying prevention must begin at an early age by strengthening character formation at home. Through this expansion, Kita Korban Bullying aims to equip parents with the knowledge and tools to foster empathy, respect, and healthy communication in children, while introducing age-appropriate anti-bullying values to preschool and elementary students. By engaging families as the first line of education, the initiative seeks to prevent the roots of bullying before harmful behaviors take shape.

On challenges faced so far.
One of the main challenges faced by Kita Korban Bullying was skepticism from institutions and limited cooperation from some schools and students. These obstacles were gradually addressed by consistently demonstrating the movement’s impact and professionalism. Through sustained engagement, partnerships, and visible results, the initiative built credibility and trust within communities, allowing its work to gain broader acceptance.
Osmar believes that meaningful change begins with understanding a real problem, building a committed team, and taking action with a clear focus on impact. By staying consistent and purpose-driven, he believes recognition and opportunities will follow naturally over time.
