Applications for the UNESCO MGIEP/APCEIU 12th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED 2026 are now open. APCEIU and UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), in partnership with the GCED Youth Network, are co-hosting the 12th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED under the theme “Translating Peace into Action: Leveraging Media and the Arts for Youth Advocacy.” 

The workshop seeks to empower young leaders around the world to drive meaningful change in their communities by critically and meaningfully engaging with the world and exploring how youth can contribute to advancing peace through creative and impactful advocacy.

Costs

  • All costs – including accommodations, meals, local transportation, and round-trip international airfare to and from Seoul, Republic of Korea – will be covered for selected participants.

Successful participants who complete the workshop will be eligible to apply for an exclusive mentorship programme to further develop their initiatives.

Eligibility

  • Born between 1998 and 2007
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Have minimum 2 years of active experience in youth activities
  • Have commitment and capacity to implement GCED training programmes within three months after participating in the main workshop
  • Be from one of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipient countries
  • Have completed the designated prerequisite online course on the GCED Online Campus

    • 1-min self introducing video
    • Prerequisite course certificate
