Applications are open for the Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellow 2026-2027. The Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellowship is a one-year program that provides unique opportunities to a recent PhD or master’s level graduate to conduct rigorous, policy-oriented research to address key knowledge gaps in the field of Women, Peace and Security (WPS).

Fellows should have working knowledge of the WPS agenda and related US and international policy frameworks. Candidates must be in the final semester of an advanced degree or have graduated with an advanced degree within the past three years, and must have a background in gender as it relates to International Affairs, particularly in conflict-affected and fragile settings.

Benefits

  • The annual compensation for the full-time fellowship is expected to range from $60,000 – $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible, applicants must be in the final semester of an advanced degree (PhD or master’s) or have graduated with an advanced degree within the past three years.
  • Preference will be given to Georgetown University alumni.

Selection Criteria

  • A strong academic record with a graduate degree in political science, public policy, conflict resolution, international or national security, international development, international relations, law, economics, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate research findings to the policy community.
  • Ability to apply an intersectional gender lens to the analysis of conflict and crisis.
  • Working knowledge of the WPS field.
  • A demonstrated interest in and commitment to closing gender gaps and other dimensions of inequality.
  • Skills in qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently to produce original insights and generate new research ideas.
  • Record of publishing either in online or print outlets (desirable).
