Are you a young person working to restore landscapes or seascapes? Apply for the Restoration Stewards Program 2027. The Restoration Stewards Program 2027 could be your opportunity to deepen your impact and connect with a global community of young landscape leaders.
The Restoration Stewards program is a year-long fellowship supporting young experts and practitioners (aged 18-35) who restore their landscapes with and for their communities. Launched in 2020 by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL), the program nurtures the vision, efforts and transformative impact of young landscape leaders, particularly young women, Indigenous People and youth from rural areas. The program operates within a care-based ecosystem of support that places trust, equity, and collaboration at its center.
During the program, you will:
- Set and achieve project-specific goals with mentor support;
- Deepen your understanding of holistic restoration and the landscape approach;
- Organize at least one community engagement event;
- Share your work through blogs, articles and social media;
- Collaborate regularly with mentors and the program team.
Benefits
Selected Restoration Stewards are supported for one year with:
- EUR 5,000 in trust-based funding;
- Mentorship from scientific and technical experts;
- Capacity development and training opportunities;
- A global community of peers and collaborators;
- Visibility through global platforms.
Eligibility
You are eligible if you:
- Are 18-35 years old;
- Are leading or contributing to a youth-led restoration project that focuses holistically on social and ecological elements;
- Work in ecosystems such as forests, mountains, oceans, wetlands, peatlands, drylands, rangelands or other landscapes.
Priority is given to projects that:
- Are led by young people (18-35 years old) from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America or the Caribbean;
- Are led by women, locally and/ or Indigenous-led;
- Have been active for at least six months.
