Applications are open for the RMIT Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships Program 2026. Each year, RMIT brings on the world’s best and brightest researchers and teams to undertake transdisciplinary applied research that creates positive impact for society, the economy and the environment.
For this round, their focus is on building transdisciplinary research and innovation capability with a focus on specific areas of Regenerative and Sustainable Futures, MedTech Innovation, and Digital Innovation.

Eligibility
- To be eligible for an RMIT Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowship, you must hold a PhD/Doctorate qualification, or if applying specifically to the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship category, be awarded your PhD prior to an offer being made (approximately December 2026).
- Fellowships are not offered to RMIT employees who are already in ongoing roles.
- RMIT staff on casual or fixed-term contracts who meet the specific Fellowship category’s eligibility criteria are eligible to apply.
