MWAN Research Mentorship Hub for Female Doctors 2026

Applications are open for the MWAN Research Mentorship Hub for Female Doctors 2026. The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) invites applications from young, early-career female doctors for the MWAN Research Mentorship Hub — a fully funded programme designed to build research, writing, communication and publication skills among women in medicine.

Thirty-five (35) female doctors will be competitively selected from across the country. The Hub is delivered as part of MWAN’s mandate to enhance the research capacity of early-career researchers, especially women.

Eligibility

  • Female medical doctors (early or middle career) with interest in maternal and child health.
  • A financial and active member of MWAN in any of the MWAN branches.
  • At least two (2) publications in peer-reviewed journals (as lead, corresponding or co-author).
  • Demonstrable interest in maternal, newborn and child health research.
  • Willing and able to commit the time and effort required to meet the programme objectives, including all virtual sessions and the physical close-out meeting in Abuja.
  • reliable internet access and a personal computer for virtual participation.

Application

Applicants must submit:

  • A complete application form
  • A current curriculum vitae
  • A recommendation letter from your MWAN state branch
  • A recommendation letter from a medical doctor who is a senior researcher
  • Evidence of at least two (2) peer-reviewed publications
  • A strong statement of purpose (max 400 words) linking your propsed research to the project’s objectives
