KAUST Global Fellowship Program (KGFP) 2027 (Funded)

Applications are invited for the KAUST Global Fellowship Program (KGFP) 2027. The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Global Fellowship Program attracts and supports outstanding emerging research leaders from around the world, empowering them to build a path towards a fully independent career.

The program inspires the next generation of scientists and engineers to address global challenges and create opportunities that benefit humanity. This merit-based program targets excellent postdoctoral researchers with breakthrough ideas that can complement, support, and advance the major research priorities of KAUST. In their ‘research-first’ environment, Global Fellows have full access to world-class research tools and equipment, unparalleled facilities, and expertise required to realise their research ambitions, supported by a strong community of excellence.

Eligibility

  • Open to applicants of all nationalities.
  • Nominees must meet Saudi Arabia’s residency and work permit requirements to obtain a visa and join the Fellowship.
  • Applicants must hold a PhD awarded within the last four years and propose independent research aligned with KAUST’s research priorities.
  • Proposals must demonstrate novelty and innovation beyond your PhD work or current projects, and should not simply replicate research already underway in the Host PI’s lab.

Application

Before you begin, ensure you have all required documents ready, including your research proposal, CV, and supporting materials. The application window opens September 1, 2026, with a deadline on October 1, 2026 for Stage 1 (Concept Note), and the full proposal deadline is January 15, 2027.
