Deadline: November 1, 2026

Applications are open for the Gloria’s Foundation Fellowship 2027. The Gloria’s Foundation will select two Fellows for a one-year fellowship, which will take place January – December 2027. This program will offer tools, resources, and a safe and inspiring space for work and organizing for Fellows whose work/independent project centers around justice.

Northeastern University Global Study Expo 2026

Gloria’s Foundation is a nod to the place Gloria Steinem has called home since 1967 — a New York City apartment that has been the birthplace of countless ideas and organizations. From farm workers organizing for better wages to the first meetings for Ms. magazine, organizing is literally woven into Gloria’s home.

Benefits

  • Access to the Foundation’s space on the Upper East Side (New York City) two times/month from 9am-6pm. Must book 1 week in advance. There is an office including a Mac Desktop and printer available for use on-site. Note that this means the Fellows must be located in the NYC Metropolitan area or find housing in the NYC Metropolitan area for the duration of the Fellowship. The Foundation is not able to assist with housing.
  • Access to the Foundation’s library during visits to the space.
  • Access to support from Gloria’s Foundation team and community-building opportunities with those affiliated with Fellowship program.
  • Invitation to Talking Circle programming. Dates and topics to be provided as they are scheduled.
  • Fellows may organize two Talking Circles during their Fellowship. Fellows will be responsible for deciding the topic and inviting up to 5 guests with approval from Gloria’s Foundation team. The Talking Circle must be scheduled two months in advance but can be held at any point during the Fellowship (exception: holidays).
  • $5,000 stipend and lunch provided when working on-site.
  • Given the Foundation’s focus on organizing and community, there is an expectation that chosen fellows will continue to form the growth and future of the Fellowship and Foundation. This may include providing helpful feedback regarding the program and the Foundation via an interview with Foundation staff.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants:

  • Must be located in the NYC Metropolitan area or find housing in the NYC Metropolitan area for the duration of the fellowship (July-December). The Foundation is not able to assist with housing.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to work in the U.S.
  • Identify as activists, artists, change-makers, or creative thinkers.
  • Be able to provide one professional reference upon request.

Application

Applications must be submitted by November 1 at 11:59PM ET.
