Deadline: November 29, 2026

Applications for the Precursor Ventures AI & Investment Operations Internship 2027 are now open. They are seeking a current student who likes making complex workflows simpler and wants to learn how an early-stage investment team works. You’ll take ownership of a practical AI and operations project: help them understand the tools and agents the team has built, identify overlap, and make useful work easier to share.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Map AI Tools: Audit the agents and workflows used across the firm. Document what exists, who uses it, and where work overlaps.
  • Build a Shared System: Create a practical dashboard or other resource that gives the team visibility into its tools and helps surface useful ideas.
  • Improve Workflows: Identify inefficiencies and test ways to reduce duplicated work. Favor solutions the team can maintain after your internship.
  • Learn Venture Capital: Join team meetings and founder pitches. Evaluate multiple startups alongside the investment team and get feedback on your thinking.
  • Capstone Project: Deliver an AI tooling audit and a working shared resource, with recommendations for what to keep, consolidate, or improve.
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week, designed to work around the candidate’s academic schedule. Candidates are expected to join our weekly team meetings: Tuesdays at 8:30 – 9:00 am PT and Fridays at 10:00 – 11:00 am PT.

Benefits

  • A paid, part-time internship.
  • Ownership of a real operational challenge, with work the team can use.
  • A working understanding of how early-stage investors source, evaluate, and decide on new investments.
  • Feedback on your startup evaluations and collaboration with our investment team.
  • Exposure to early-stage founders and the companies they’re building.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a United States college or university.
  • Currently authorized to work in the US. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment visas. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Have built a tool, automation, dashboard, or workflow you can show.
  • Use AI tools in your own work and have opinions about where they help and where they don’t.
  • Comfortable learning how people work today before proposing a new system.
  • Able to turn a messy set of tools or processes into something others can understand and use.
  • Curious about startups and how investors evaluate them.
  • Previous venture capital experience is not required.

Application

Send a short introduction and a link to something you built or improved (a GitHub repository, dashboard, automation, write-up, or another example of your work). Tell them what problem it solved, what you would change if you did it again, and why you’re interested in both AI operations and evaluating startups.
