Child Helpline International (CHI) is recruiting a second generation of youngsters to join their global Youth Advisory Council and form the forefront of fighting for the rights of children and youth worldwide by providing meaningful youth participation. CHI is looking for four young, motivated and well-informed leaders to be included in the governing structure of the organization as the second group of youth members.
Are you a young person between 18 and 22, committed to contributing to the success and wellbeing of your own generation? Would you like to be part of an international group of youngsters, working on various exciting projects while gaining essential skills and expertise? CHI is one of the world’s largest collective impact organisations, a network of 183 independent organisations that listen and help children and young people in 142 countries. CHI coordinates the network’s global and regional advocacy, facilitates knowledge transfer, capacity building and communication amongst its child helpline members, influences policy and works with other global and regional organisation to improve children’s lives.
Eligibility
- Between 18 and 22 years
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Some knowledge on child helpline activities
- A young person committed to contributing to the success and well-being of their own generation
- Possibility to invest a minimum of 4 hours per month (phone calls, skype meetings, emails, output, etc.) to this position
Application Procedure
CHI asks for a minimum commitment of 2 years.

- A recent CV
- Maximum of 250-word essay describing the candidate’s opinion on the role of child helplines in children and young people’s lives nowadays
- Maximum of two-sentence answers to the questions below. It’s optional but we would appreciate a video message with the answers! Nothing fancy, a phone recording would do, just to help us know you better
