Applications are open for the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award 2019/2020. The award adopted the water axis as the main focus of the current session.

The award was created by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to promote the art of photography as one of the most important arts. The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Prize is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, therefore participation in the competition is completely free.

Award Brief

The “Hope” season ended after the winning works gave a highly artistic and varied style extension to this positive intellectual approach. The time has come to renew the launch and open the gateway to the visual competitiveness of all lens creators around the world, by launching the ninth season of the award under the title “water”, which intersected with human history since its earliest times on the planet.

“Water” is the synonym of life and its fresh artery, sharing our lives from the first minute as one of the components of the body, extending the number of days we live a basic partner of multiple necessities and uses.

    • The first winner will receive $ 20,000
    • The second winner will receive $ 16,000

Eligibility

  • Open to everyone from all over the world;
  • Participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of the competition.

Entry Requirements

  • You can submit one photo in each of the competition’s axes, including the two sub-axes under the general axis, with the exception of a photographic file axis that allows participation of 5 – 10 images. You must include a title and description for each image, including a description of the total images in the image file axis.
  • You may not submit the same image to share more than one axis. Any photo submitted to participate in more than one theme will be excluded from the entire competition
  • Submitted images must be in JPEG or JPG format and must be of high quality and resolution and the size of the image should not be less than 5 MB, with the longest side of the image not less than 2000 pixels and the quality not less than 300 dpi, except for the axis of mobile photography, The image should be at least 2 MB in size. Images should be suitable for publication
  • The original image (RAW) or original image file must be loaded without modification when loading the image in all axes
  • Black and white images are allowed in all competition themes except for the colored sub-axis under the general axis
  • At the center of an image file, you must share a series of images for the same subject, a minimum number of 5 images and a maximum of 10 images
  • Participating images must not contain any logos, signatures, names, frames, borders, symbols, and any other signs, date, timing and / or signs added by the participant. Basic technical adjustments to images are permitted, provided this does not affect the credibility and / or authenticity of the image. Advanced edits used to add tricks, visual tricks, and / or manipulations, including creative compositions and photo modifications, are prohibited. The Prize reserves the right to evaluate and exclude any images which the Prize considers, at its sole discretion, contrary to the foregoing
  • Any images that represent or contain any inappropriate and / or offensive content, including nudity, violence and / or other content deemed incompatible with the public morals, religious and cultural customs and traditions of the United Arab Emirates, will be excluded
  • No photos may be submitted that won previous prizes either in one of the previous prize competitions or any other competitions that were announced before October 31, 2019. No images submitted previously for any commercial purpose may be submitted to participate in the competition. Any images contrary to the above will be automatically excluded from the Contest and without further notice.
