Deadline: April 5, 2020
ERASMUS+ Virtual Exchange is now accepting applications for the 2020 Youth, Peace and Security Online Course. ‘Youth, Peace and Security’ is a 4-week interactive online course for motivated youth curious about how to make a positive social change or understand more about conflict and peace, whether you are a student, a volunteer, or a young professional.
Connect with peers around the world and share your views on: Is peace possible? From where does violence stem?
About
The Interactive Open Online Course “Youth, Peace and Security” introduces participants to core concepts of violence, conflict and peace and provides a space to exchange ideas and perspectives with peers on the role of youth in conflict transformation.
Based on expert content developed jointly by UNOY and Search for Common Ground, you will be introduced to core concepts of violence, conflict and peace while exchanging ideas and perspectives with your peers. You will explore together the roles and power of young people to transform conflict.
Is peace possible? What forms does violence take? What is the Youth, Peace and Security agenda? What tools are used in conflict transformation, and what new collaborations may be possible with the networks you will build in this course?
Youth are no longer simply seen as either a group to protect or to blame in conflicts around the world. Governments, civil society, and researchers are now recognising the power of young people to act as agents of conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Together with young people from other countries and diverse cultural backgrounds, explore the concepts of violence, conflict, and peace in depth, and the role which you can play in the contexts you live and work in.
