Deadline: May 11, 2014

Applications for the 2014 Freedom Week are now open. Freedom Week is an annual, one-week seminar designed to teach students about classical liberalism and free market economics. Freedom Week 2014 will be held at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, from 14th to 19th July.

If your application is successful, you will spend five days learning about liberty from some of Britain’s leading thinkers. You will also have the opportunity to network with fellow students, academics, and think tank representatives – all in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of free time and nightly social activities.

About

The aim of the Freedom Week is to inspire a promising group of students and give them the knowledge, the confidence, and the network they need to go out and defend freedom. The seminar is designed to educate students about the ideas and principles behind free markets and the free society. Its intensive programme of lectures, discussions and debates – all conducted in a relaxed, informal atmosphere – covers a variety of topics, and quickly gives students a grounding in the fundamentals of classical liberalism.

Cost and Benefits

Freedom Week is entirely free for the students: there is no charge whatsoever for accommodation, food, tuition or materials. However, students are responsible for making their own way to and from Cambridge.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old on July 14th 2014 to apply to Freedom Week
  • The program is attended by students, mostly undergraduates. Several lecturers will also stay the entire week, making it easy to have discussions or ask questions in a social context.
