Deadline: June 15, 2018

Nominations are now open for the Henley & Partners Global Citizen Award 2018. Once a year, Henley & Partners honors an inspirational global citizen. The award is a tribute to remarkable individuals who work towards improving the global community, and whose actions contribute to a more just, peaceful, and tolerant world.

The selected 2018 laureate will be honored at the Global Citizen Award®, a gala event which will mark the conclusion of the annual Henley & Partners Global Residence and Citizenship Conference  – held this year in Dubai from 4 to 6 November 2018.

The committee looks for an inspirational individual who demonstrates extraordinary vision, courage, and commitment in contributing to the advancement of a significant and pressing global issue. ‘Global issues’ are defined by the UN as issues that transcend national boundaries and cannot be resolved by any one country acting alone.

Award

The award itself consists of a bespoke sculptural medal, an award certificate signed by the Chairman of the Global Citizen Award® Committee, and a monetary prize. The monetary prize has increased this year to USD 30,000, which goes towards supporting the awardee’s humanitarian efforts.

Following the award, Henley & Partners is committed to working closely with the awardee for a period of one year, raising awareness about the awardee’s work and supporting their selected project. In particular, expertise will be offered in marketing and PR strategies to most effectively maximize the project’s impact and reach.

Eligibility

The committee looks for an inspirational individual who demonstrates extraordinary vision, courage, and commitment in contributing to the advancement of a significant and pressing global issue. ‘Global issues’ are defined as those that transcend national boundaries and cannot be resolved by any one country acting alone.

  • The Global Citizen Award® is open to those working in a field with a direct link to global issues, rather than politicians or celebrities.
  • The awardee’s work should not remain purely academic: instead, it needs to have a concrete, positive impact on the lives of vulnerable social groups.

Application

To submit your nomination, please complete the form electronically and send it to the Global Citizen Award® Secretariat at [email protected] by 15 June 2018.

The strongest nominations will have detailed accounts of the candidate’s work and evidence of their impact.

Download the nomination form.
