Deadline: August 31, 2019
Applications are open for the Imagine a Feminist Internet Southeast Asia Workshop 2019. The Foundation for Media Alternatives (FMA) and EMPOWER-Malaysia, with the support of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), will be holding the three-day collaborative workshop on Imagine a Feminist Internet in Southeast Asia+ (IFI-SEA+).
The workshop will take place in Malaysia from November 14-16 2019, as a continuation of the global process, space and conversation started in 2014, when over 50 women’s rights, sexual rights and internet rights activists and advocates from different parts of the world discussed and explored the intersections of gender, sexuality and technology.
The workshop aims to contribute to building a stronger Southeast Asia feminist internet and will serve as a platform for collaboration, connection and solidarity support for feminists/activists in the region, as well as providing a space for collective analysis, engagement and imagination by key and emerging actors located in different movements to interrogate and integrate a feminist political approach on internet and digital technologies and their impact across the broad range of rights.
