Applications are open for GHC Scholarships to attend the 2020 Grace Hopper Celebration. Grace Hopper Celebration is the world’s largest gathering of women technologists. It is produced by AnitaB.org and presented in partnership with ACM. GHC 20 will be September 29—October 2 in Orlando, FL.
GHC Scholarships provide funds for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty to attend the three-day Celebration. Scholars who attend GHC gain access to career and academic workshops, networking opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Scholarships
They are providing the following full scholarship opportunities to increase access for women to attend Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC).
- GHC Scholars Program for Students and Faculty – The GHC Scholars Program provides funds for women who are either undergraduate students, graduate students, or faculty to attend the Celebration. Women who get selected as scholars gain access to career and academic workshops, networking opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Student and Faculty Scholarships include:- Individual Registration.
- Hotel accommodations.
- Roundtrip airfare.
- Stipend (to be used for travel, meals, and incidentals such as rideshares, baggage fees, etc.).
- They will provide the stipend when you pick up your badge at GHC.
- GHC Women in Boot Camp Scholarship – To increase access for women from alternative tech programs such as boot camps and coding schools, AnitaB.org is providing a limited number of scholarships that cover the cost of attending GHC including: registration, accommodations, airfare, and a stipend to cover meals and incidentals.
The scholarship includes:- Individual Registration

- Stipend (to be used for travel, meals, and incidentals e.g., rideshares, baggage fees, etc.. They will provide the stipend when you pick up your badge at GHC.
Eligibility
GHC Scholars Program for Students and Faculty:
Students Eligibility:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by September 29, 2020.
- Must be a full-time student enrolled in an accredited degree program at a college, university, or high school at the time of applying.
- Must be a full-time student enrolled in an accredited degree program at a college or university at the time of the Celebration (September 29 — October 2, 2020). Those graduating prior to the Celebration are not eligible unless accepted to another related degree program (such as a M.S. or Ph.D. program).
- Show satisfactory progress toward a degree such as, but not limited to, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline such as electrical engineering, human-computer interaction, math, physics, or management information systems.
- Be able to demonstrate an interest in computing.
- Cannot have been an AnitaB.org-GHC Scholar in 2019.
Faculty Eligibility:
- Must be teaching at an accredited college or university at the time of the conference. They do not award scholarships to High School teachers, as the conference does not provide programming for K-12.
- Must teach in a degree program such as, but not limited to, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline such as electrical engineering, human-computer interaction, math, physics, or management information systems.
- Cannot have been an AnitaB.org-GHC Scholar in 2019.
GHC Women in Boot Camp Scholarship
- Must be at least 18 years of age by September 29, 2020.
- Must demonstrate a desire to work in tech.
- Must be able to attend all days of the Celebration.
- Must reside in the United States or United States territories.
- Must identify as having at least one of the following:
- A completed certificate from an alternative tech program (e.g., coding boot camp or other accelerated coding program).
- Being currently enrolled in an alternative tech program.
- Cannot accept more than one award to attend GHC.
- Must not be a current college student or faculty member.
- Must not have been an Untapped Pathways Grant Recipient in 2019.
