Apply to join Sandbox Elsewhere Hub – Cohort 2022

Deadline: September 25, 2022

Sandbox is now accepting applications into its Sandbox Elsewhere Hub Cohort 2022. They are looking for engaged and engaging people to celebrate the challenges and the magic of belonging nowhere and everywhere.

In general, Sandbox is an ideal space if you are interested in getting out of your standard routine. This means something different to each person: Sandbox can be a space for personal growth, a community of peers who share their enthusiasm for the issues that move you, or an excuse to spend time with new people in your life. Being part of Sandbox means spending a little time with the community, but what is often said is that you always receive more than you give to the group.

🔹 Are you 20-30 years old?*
🔹 Are you a curious human who wants to move mountains?
🔹 Are you open to vulnerability yet driven to make a positive change in your community?
🔹 Are you based in a city without an existing Sandbox hub?
🔹 A nomad at heart or in real life?

Then apply to join the 2022 Sandbox Elsewhere cohort!

What is Sandbox?

Sandbox is organised in hubs that exist in cities in 26 countries around the world. Each hub has its members, identity and rotating government. Every year, hubs bring in new people through a community-designed process.
The Elsewhere Hub is designed for all those who are nomadic or are currently based in a city without an existing Sandbox Hub. With over 80 members, we span every continent around the globe. Theye work in research, art, startups, government, the media and non-profit organisations. Each member of the Elsewhere Hub brings something different to the table. Their hub is a space to try new things and meet people we wouldn’t otherwise come across.

Who are Sandboxers?

They represent the world’s most visible pioneers of the Forbes list of 30 under 30. We have been featured on the front covers of Wired, Fast Company, Forbes, the Boston Globe and covered in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Financial Times, Washington Post, CNN, ABC Inc Magazine, and Vogue. They’ve shared their experiences and have spoken at TED, the White House, the World Economic Forum, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the United Nations.

Benefits

  • Lifetime access to a network of future decision-makers where members share their unique skills with one another.
  • In addition to joining the Elsewhere Hub, you automatically become part of a global community: as part of shared communication channels, we are invited to retreats (co-created group trips by the community) around the world and we can get in touch and be welcomed by any hub.
  • Every year they organize a summit, a meeting where members of the community meet on-site to share time and experiences. In 2022 it is going to take place in Mexico. Previous summits have taken place in Kenya, Panama, and Croatia.

Eligibility

  • Open to applicants around the world aged 20-30 years
  • Be based in a city without an existing Sandbox hub
  • Be a nomad at heart or in real life
  • Be open to vulnerability yet driven to make a positive change in your community

They encourage anyone above 30 to apply. You will be placed on a waiting list as they are in the process of looking into exceptional 30+ recruitment in the future (although this isn’t guaranteed).

Application

The application process will consist of three stages:

  • The online application form
  • An interview, and finally
  • A creative WOW project to showcase what you can bring to the community.

Applications are now live until midnight CET, Sunday, 25 September 2022.
