Deadline: August 20, 2023
Applications are open for the CT Climate Journalism Mentoring Program 2023. The Climate Journalism Mentoring Program is a training program, where participants have the challenge of producing three high-value stories about climate change in Latin America.
In this cycle, the work will focus exclusively on governments, institutions, companies and actors that are delaying the energy transition in the region, either through public policies, lobbying, promotion of fossil fuel projects, finance and subsidies to the fossil industry, among other actions that prevent the decarbonization of economies.
In other words, they look for stories that show the impacts and implications of policies, incentives and other types of actions that continue to promote fossil fuels (such as oil, coal and fossil natural gas), to the detriment of renewable energies, despite irrefutable evidence that points to the urgency of transforming energy matrices to mitigate the effects of the climate crisis. They will do this while receiving personalized editorial accompaniment from the Climate Tracker team, as well as economic incentives, mentoring from referents in the region and contact with other journalists. The program will run from the end of August to the end of November 2023.
