3. Canadian Hillman Prize for Journalism 2025.
The Canadian Hillman Prizes honour excellence in journalism in service of the common good. The Hillman Prizes seek out investigative reporting that draws attention to social or economic injustice and leads to meaningful public policy change. They strive to recognize discernment of a significant news story, resourcefulness and courage in reporting, skill in relating the story and the impact of the coverage. Starting in 2024, the foundation now awards three Canadian Hillman Prizes instead of one.

4. KSJ Fellowship for Advancing Science Journalism in Africa and the Middle East 2025-2026.
This new one-semester fellowship, hosted by the Knight Science Journalism Program (KSJ) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), was inspired by the life and career of Egyptian science journalist Mohammed Yahia. The fellowship was created in partnership with Springer Nature, publisher of Nature Middle East, which grew to be an important contributor to science reporting in the region under Yahia’s leadership from 2010-2023.

The Peter F. Collier Award for Ethics in Journalism celebrates acts of journalism by student and professional journalists that meet the highest ethical standards in the face of pressure or incentives to do otherwise.
