Applications are open for the UBA National Essay Competition 2025. The National Essay Competition, targeted at senior secondary students in Nigeria, is organised annually, as part of UBA Group Foundation’s education initiative which aims to promote the reading culture and encourage healthy and intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Nigeria and across Africa.
The Essay topic: Nigeria is Characterised By Diverse Cultures, Ethnicities, and Religions. How Can Young Nigerians Deploy Diversity to Build a United Nation?
- 1st Stage: Call for entries – 12 best essays to be selected
- 2nd Stage: Final physical test – Winner, 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up
Prizes
- Winner – N10 million educational grant to any African University
- 1st Runner-Up – N7.5 million educational grant to any African University
- 2nd Runner-Up – N5 million educational grant to any African University

- Be a Nigerian Senior Secondary School Student

- Upload a handwritten essay of 750 words max (not typed)
- Upload a copy of recent passport photograph
- Upload a scanned copy of Birth Certificate/National ID/ International Passport

- Ensure your full name is written on your handwritten essay before uploading.
- The title of the attachments should be the applicant’s name and the name of the document being attached e.g (John Doe – Passport Photograph)
