Deadline: January 5, 2026

Apply to join the ONE Youth Ambassadors Programme in the UK 2026. The ONE Youth Ambassadors Programme is a high-impact, year-long volunteer opportunity for passionate young people aged 18–35 who want to stand at the forefront of global change.

From driving conversations on health and climate to challenging outdated narratives about Africa, you’ll be part of an ambitious movement pushing for a better future. As a Youth Ambassador, you’ll sharpen powerful advocacy skills, engage directly with MPs and key decision-makers, and play a central role in major campaigning moments like Africa Day and the UK’s Spring Development Conference. You’ll join a dynamic network of young leaders across the UK and around the world, all working together to deliver real, tangible impact where it matters most.

Tasks

ONE Ambassadors take part in a range of campaign activities, represent ONE at events and in their communities, and receive the tools and support needed to develop their own initiatives. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Joining online and in-person Ambassador meetings (monthly online meetings, with in person events and additional sessions depending on campaign activity and training needs).
  • Attending online and offline events, including trainings, lobby days in Parliament, Africa Day activities, conferences, and the annual activist convening.
  • Using social media to raise awareness and inspire change, including appearing on ONE’s social media channels.
  • Public speaking engagements.
  • Coordinating and delivering local events in your constituency to engage your MP.
  • Writing letters to newspapers and potentially appearing on radio or TV.
  • Encouraging your community and the wider UK public to take campaign actions online and in person.
  • Attending residentials/retreats.

Benefits

  • Being part of the UK ONE Ambassador cohort and the global network of ONE Activists across Europe, Africa, and the US.
  • Written confirmation of service and a certificate upon completion of the programme; job references (suitable for inclusion on your CV).
  • Training and opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in campaigning, advocacy, UK politics, global health and development financing, media, social media, and policy.
  • Potential opportunities to represent ONE at events, conferences, and trainings.
  • Opportunities to engage with UK decision-makers, including MPs and Ministers.
  • Reimbursement of reasonable expenses (travel, accommodation, food) when representing ONE and taking part in ONE-organised activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Live in the UK for the duration of the programme
  • Be aged 18–35 years old
