Through the Matthew Cohan Criminal Justice & Public Service Scholarship, the firm awards one $500 scholarship each year to a student who demonstrates academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community. Whether your future lies in law, criminal justice, public policy, law enforcement, social work, government, or another field that serves the public, they encourage you to apply.
Scholarship
- The award amount is $500. Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, or other education-related expenses.
Eligibility
They welcome applicants committed to justice and positive change:
- Community service and volunteer involvement
- Resilience through obstacles or challenges
- A genuine desire to contribute to community and/or the world
Selection Criteria
Applications are reviewed with an emphasis on:
- Clarity of goals (education + career direction)
- Resilience and perseverance demonstrated through real experiences
- Impact mindset (how you plan to contribute, serve, or lead)
- Quality of writing (clear, authentic, and thoughtful)
