We are pleased to share this news with you. Finalists have been announced for the Technovation Challenge 2015. Starting with a call for application, Technovation challenged girls from across the globe to create mobile apps that solve a problem in their community. With over 350 app submission, the competition has come down to a total of 10 finalist teams (6 from high school and 4 from middle school) from Nigeria, India, Mexico, Brazil and the United States.

The finalists are now invited to San Francisco from June 22nd through June 26th for the Technovation World Pitch Events, where two winners will emerge. One winner from the high school division will receive $10,000 and one winner from the middle school division will receive $10,000 to implement their business ideas.

About Technovation

Technovation is a mobile software development challenge targeted towards girls. The mission of Technovation is to empower young women to use technology to make the world a better place. In 2014, 1,500 girls from around the globe developed 362 mobile apps, making Technovation the largest global technology entrepreneurship programme for girls.

Technovation encourages the use of MIT App Inventor for beginners to develop mobile app prototypes for Android devices. However, final app submissions may be developed on any platform including iOS, Google Glass, and Windows phones. Submissions must be developed and designed for mobile devices.

Congratulations to all the Finalists especially Team Charis from Nigeria, who received advice and coaching from Opportunity Desk Founder, Grace Ihejiamaizu. See the winners below:
