Applications are open for the Residence Supply Research Contest 2026. Do you have a story, an experiment, or research about lighting that could brighten the world? Residence Supply invites everyone—students, professionals, DIYers, designers, engineers, and homeowners—to delve into the art, science, and future of lighting and share it in the annual Research Contest.

They aim to spark innovative thinking, spotlight diverse voices, and showcase how lighting transforms spaces and lives. Whether you’re investigating technology, sharing lived experience, or offering a creative take on lighting’s future, your insight matters.

Topics

  • Evolution of Modern Lighting: Trace the journey from classic bulbs to smart, sustainable systems. Analyze how style and technology blend in today’s fixtures.
  • Lighting Design in Smart Homes: Explore the unique challenges of automating mood, color, and energy efficiency in the modern home.
  • Sustainability by Design: Research new eco-friendly materials, energy standards, or wellness trends in lighting.

  • Real-World Impact: Profile a lighting transformation project and its effect on business, lifestyle, or well-being.
