Our Young Person of the Month is Masego Mosokomane from Botswana! Masego Mosokomane is a serial entrepreneur. She is the CEO of Macey Elite Services, Macey’s Bridal Couture shop, Macey Party Shop and Kyle’s Baby Hair Products which are currently being sold in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. She is also the founder of Macey Kingston Trust which deals with providing people with clean water and Sanitation.

At 26, Masego Mosokomane is the CEO of Macey Elite Services, a company that deals with personalized decorations for all events. She is the CEO of Macey’s Bridal Couture shop, Macey Party Shop and Kyle’s Baby Hair Products, which are currently being sold in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Nigeria. She is also the founder of Macey Kingston Trust which deals with providing people with clean water and Sanitation.
Masego finished her Diploma in Entrepreneurship Development in 2017 at ABM University College and graduated in 2018. Her inspiration and start up began when she was serving a waitress at Travelodge. She loved helping people and providing good customer services. She then went to School where her entrepreneurial journey started. Masego began her first project while at school with her living allowance which was $142, she saved and registered her mother company, Macey Elite Services. She later grew her company and won a business competition in Nigeria among 151 000 applicants from 54 countries in Africa and was awarded $5000. This competition opened for her international doors which lead her to become a Country Director of Global Peace Chain of Botswana.
On Her Successes
Masego is a member of Obama Foundation, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), World Youth Forum, World Youth Parliament for Water, Rural Water Supply Network, and also a member and alumni of Tony Elumelu Foundation. As a token of appreciation to the country, community and other entrepreneurs, she sponsors youth led events, she has groomed 19 Young Entrepreneurs who are currently doing well in their businesses and in schools. She is a motivational speaker and this has become one of her favorite hobbies.
On Obstacles
She stresses the obstacles she faced was getting finances for her startup. She struggled with getting the equipment she needed but kept on pushing and working hard until she finally sat down and decided to write a business plan and entered The Tony Elumelu Foundation competition which made her grab $5 000 for her company. She is now making it and is willing to open branches all over the country and countries outside.
Her Advice to the Youth
“Work hard until you make it. Don’t give up. Keep pushing each door, one door is always unlocked for you. And when you get there, please help others to get where you are right now. Blessings will never stop pouring…”
