How to Become a YouTuber and Get Paid

While many people dream of being famous on YouTube, the hard truth is that most content creators struggle to make ends meet with their videos. There’s no shortage of stories about popular YouTubers getting shut down because they can’t afford to run ads on their videos anymore.

But there are plenty of ways to become a successful YouTuber if you know what you’re doing and don’t spend your precious time on the platform searching in vain for monetization opportunities that aren’t right for you.

Let’s look at ten easy steps to help you become the YouTube star you’ve always wanted to be! Read on to find out how!

How to Get Paid As a YouTuber

  • Pick a Niche for Your Channel

When starting, it’s important to pick a niche for your channel. This will help you attract viewers interested in what you have to say.

Once you’ve found your niche, stick to it! This will help you build up a loyal following. If your videos only cover one topic, people will be able to find more of your content on the youtube channel they want.

Plus, by sticking with one topic and deepening your knowledge of that subject matter, you can eventually become an expert on that specific topic. You may even be invited to give lectures or go on talk shows as an expert.

  • Always Remember Your Purpose of Why You Are Doing It

Remembering your why when you are starting as a YouTuber is important. Your ‘why’ will motivate you during slumps and remind you of your goals.

Why do you want to be a YouTuber? Once you know that, making videos will be much easier and more enjoyable. You should also create a plan on how you are going to get there.

For example, if your goal is to reach 1 million subscribers in one year, each month would have a different video topic and what you will need to do to reach that goal.

  • Understand Your Audience

Before making videos, you must understand who your audience is and what sort of content they enjoy. Take some time to research other popular YouTubers in your niche and see what kinds of videos they produce.

Also, pay attention to the comments section on their videos- this is where you can get an idea of what viewers want. The easiest way to do this is by searching for popular videos or most watched videos and then clicking on the comment sections.

  • Research and Study Your Competition

Before you start creating videos, you must understand the landscape of YouTube. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the competition. Notice what works for them and see if there is any space for you to make your style stand out.

However, it doesn’t matter how unique your perspective is if it isn’t executed well or doesn’t meet the quality expectations of viewers – so don’t cut corners here!

Once you have done all this research, look at the work others have put into their channel and ask yourself:

  • What am I doing better than these other channels?
  • Why should people watch my channel over anyone else?
  • Do I need to change anything about my current strategy?
  • Are there any mistakes I’m making?
  • Is it worth continuing on this path?
  • Don’t Forget to Create Your YouTube Channel Page

Before you can start earning money from your YouTube channel, you need to set up your channel page. This is where people will watch your videos and learn more about you and your brand.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you create your channel page:

  • Choose a catchy name for your channel
  • Upload a profile picture and cover photo
  • Write a description of what your channel is all about
  • Add links to your social media profiles so viewers can connect with you outside of YouTube
  • Connect Google AdSense or Mediavine with your account so that every time someone watches one of your videos, they may see an ad that’s relevant to them or the video they’re watching
  • Create playlists on the site (a group of videos) so viewers know when new content has been added
  • Embed your channel on other sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest
  • Create and Follow a Content Calendar

A content calendar is an essential tool. By sitting down and mapping out what you want to film ahead of time, you can save yourself a lot of stress. Plus, following a content calendar will help keep you organized and on track.

It’s hard to know when the best time to upload your videos is if you don’t plan them. Make sure your content schedule is realistic for your daily life so that it doesn’t become overwhelming and discouraging.

  • Maintain Your Video Posting Frequency

You need to maintain a consistent schedule when it comes to posting content. It’s important to build a loyal following of viewers who will watch your videos and donate money to your channel.

If you can post new videos at least once a week, you’ll be well on your way to making money on YouTube.

  • Remember to Add Call To Action (CTA)

Adding a call to action to your YouTube videos will help you gain more views and subscribers and eventually make more money. Including a CTA can be as simple as adding the words Please Subscribe at the end of your video.

More advanced CTAs might include inviting viewers to subscribe or follow you on other social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. You can also use the free YouTube end screen template, these outro templates would help the video more presentable and add your CTA to gain more viewers.

  • Reply to Your Comments

Comments are a great way to connect with your audience. They will be able to provide you feedback on what you’re doing right and what you could improve on. It’s also an effective way to get them more involved in the process of your channel and show their support!

If you have time, replying to comments is always a good idea. Even if it is just one sentence or sentence fragment, this shows that you care about what they have to say.

When you comment back, make sure you focus on thanking them for watching or subscribing to your channel and asking them questions about themselves or their comments.

  • Don’t forget to Promote Your Channel

If you want people to watch your content, you need to promote your channel. You can promote your channel by sharing it with friends and family or posting it on social media.

Social media platforms are great for getting the word out about your YouTube channel. You can also try paid advertising through Google Adwords, which allows you to pay for ads appearing in Google search results.

Conclusion

To become a successful YouTuber, start by creating great content that people will want to watch. Once you have built a following, begin thinking about ways to monetize your channel.

The most important thing is to remain true to your brand and provide value to your audience. If you can do this, you will be on track to becoming a successful YouTuber.
