Deadline: January 5, 2024
Applications are open for the Public Policy New Voices Fellowship Program 2024. The Public Policy New Voices (PPNV) Program is a collaboration among leading public policy graduate schools, corporate public policy teams, and some of the most innovative global strategic advisory firms in the US who are committed to addressing the systemic challenges experienced by early-career, underrepresented people of color in the public policy field.
PPNV convenes graduate students of color to contribute to the creation of a global policy network while addressing and tackling the structural challenges that prevent full representation and participation in policy-focused careers.
Forty Fellows will join PPNV’s Cohort 04 and embark on a virtual year-long, 18-session fellowship experience that will:
- Provide the Building Block skills necessary to promote oneself in the field of public policy.
- Grow friendly Network and Industry Exposure for each fellow to maximize during and after the program.
- Facilitate a strong Intra-Cohort Community that elevates the active-fellow experience and fosters long-term alumni engagement.
Eligibility
- Be actively enrolled in a U.S.-based graduate degree program (Masters / Doctoral / Law / Dual Degree) during the time of the fellowship.
- Self-identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC). This includes Black students from the African diaspora, students with tribal citizenship or membership (e.g., citizens of state-recognized or federally-recognized indigenous tribes, or members of unrecognized Native American or Alaska Native tribes), Latino/a students, and students of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) descent.
- Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. resident, or DACA recipient.
To be considered for the PPNV Fellowship, applicants must commit to:
- Actively participating in 1-2 virtual events per month.
- Demonstrating an internal curiosity and willingness to explore public policy careers across sectors (including the private sector).
- Participating in short video interviews with Globally staff and/or submitting self-recorded video content.
- Producing a written reflection paper at the end of the Fellowship.
- Modeling PPNV’s commitment to community-building, racial diversity, and inclusion.
- Sharing demographic information to assist in tracking PPNV’s long-term progress as a diversity program.
Application
Upon completing the Fellowship, participants must submit a reflection paper to Globally. Their reflections will be shared with university and corporate partners and will inform the next year of programming to maintain this program’s ability to respond to the needs and interests of Fellows over time.
The application window closes on January 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET.
