Advocates for Youth is accepting applications for several Youth Activist Programs. Advocates for Youth champions efforts to help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. Advocates believes it can best serve the field by boldly advocating for a more positive and realistic approach to adolescent sexual health.
The programs include: Men on a Mission | 1 in 3 Campaign | The International Youth Leadership Council | Campus Organizers | Young Women of Color Leadership Council (YWOCLC) | YouthResource LGBTQ Youth Leadership Program

You will also join more than 100 youth activists in Washington, DC for an intense four-day activist training institute free of charge!
Eligibility
Applications are open to young persons (14-24 years old) who are:
- Passionate about fighting for young people’s rights to sexual health information and services
- Interested in connecting with youth leaders from across the country
- Dedicated to developing skills to make a difference in your community

Men on a Mission
Open to US BASED COLLEGE STUDENTS
Men On A Mission is a project that seeks to engage young men on issues related to their sexual and reproductive health. This network of young male activists and educators strives to incorporate the perspectives and needs of young men to better mobilize their peers to make responsible decisions. Young men that become a part of this program will be given the training, resources, and support necessary to promote positive change among their peers.

1 in 3 Campaign
Open to US BASED COLLEGE STUDENTS
The 1 in 3 Campaign takes its name from the reality that 1 in 3 women in the united States will have an abortion in her lifetime. the campaign aims to destigmatize abortion by creating a new dialogue that puts people at the center of the conversation about abortion rights and access. Members of 1 in 3 student chapters engage in cultural advocacy work to destigmatize abortion and serve as activists, advocates, and spokespeople on abortion access in their community and around the country.

The International Youth Leadership Council
Open to DC-AREA COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
The International Youth Leadership Council (IYLC) consists of college students in the DC metro area interested in international and domestic sexual and reproductive health and rights policy. These youth leaders work to improve U.S. foreign and domestic policy regarding family planning, HIV prevention, comprehensive sex education, abortion access, and LGBTQ health and rights. Council members develop advocacy campaigns, educate and mobilize their peers, conduct campus awareness events, lobby policy makers, and speak at hill briefings, community events, and conferences.

Campus Organizing Team
Open to US BASED COLLEGE STUDENTS
Campus Organizers is made up of college students from campus organizations across the united States working to mobilize and empower other students in the fight for honest sex education, condom/contraceptive access, abortion rights, the rights of LGBTQ youth, and hiV prevention, among others. Campus organizers serve as activists, advocates, and spokespeople at the local, state, and national level.

Young Women of Color Leadership Council (YWOCLC)
Open to U.S.-BASED YOUNG WOMEN OF COLOR
The Young Women of Color Leadership Council (YWOCLC) is composed of young leaders and activists from all across the country who come together to elevate the voices of young women of color in the sexual and reproductive health, rights and justice movement. YWOCLC seeks to organize, mobilize and educate young women of color about sexual and reproductive health and rights. YWOCLC advocates for the inclusion of young women of color in adolescent sexual and reproductive health programs so other young women of color may become empowered to advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights in their respective communities.

YouthResource LGBTQ Youth Leadership Program
Open to U.S.-BASED LGBTQ YOUTH AND THEIR ALLIES
YouthResource LGBTQ Youth Leadership Program is designed by and for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. This program prepares the next generation of LGBTQ leaders. Members of YouthResource work to actively advance their training, advocacy and mobilization skills. They provide communities around the country with information, resources and education to address LGBTQ health and rights issues, such as inclusive sex education, LGBTQ youth-friendly sexual health services, and safe space for queer youth. They also serve as an online peer educators, providing affirmation and support to other LGBTQ young people by answering questions posed by visitors, and assist users to find the local resources they need.
